My main clue to the Grandparent of BJC are the names of their descendants, A name that appears in three families is Penuel. A rare name. likely related to Capt Penuel Child a close friend of Capt Joseph Cady and Daniel Cady. Several of their son's were named Penuel. The one I think was most likely related was Penuel Cady (1732-X) (James, Joseph, Nicholas) His father died just before his birth and he was likely raised in Windham Co CT and Otsego (Montgomery co) by his sisters Bethsheba Cady Johnson and Abigail Cady Church and his mother. Joseph Cody is found on the Census of 1790 in Mohawk, Montgomery Co. NY and again in 1820 in Whitewater, Hamilton Co, OH. JCC's brother David Cady was on the Census of 1820 in Mill Creek.Hamilton, Oh and was in Wayne Co PA in 1798 , Note Census records show BJC was born in NY, DWC was born in CT and JCC Jr was born in PA. All the missing records point to the Cady's being Teamsters or tradesman and not farmers.
