Susan Dailey, widow of the late David J. Dailey, whose death occurred two years ago, died Sunday morning at 8:10 o’clock at her home at Nead, southwest of Peru. She had been in ill health for more than one one year and her death was due to infirmities of old age. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock from the Brethren church west of Nead and the interment was in the Metzger cemetery. The funeral services were in charge of the Rev. J.A. Miller and the Rev. Geo. Swisher.
Susan Dailey was the daughter of John E. and Elizabeth Shively and she was born March 11, 1838 in the state of Ohio. She was united in marriage to David J. Dailey in year 1862. The greater part of her life was spent in the vicinity of Nead and she was a faithful member of the Old German Baptist church. She is survived by one son, John Dailey, who lives at home, and one brother and one sister. The brother is Henry L. Shively and the sister is Mrs. Samuel Shepler.
