Hello. I am looking into finding more information on the family of Ancil D. & Nancy Ann (Green) Shepard.

Shepard was spelled many different ways including Shepherd, Sheppard, etc.

Ancil was born about 1827 in Estill County, Kentucky.

Nancy was born about 1840 in Harrison County, Kentucky.

Ancil had two children from a previous marriage with Nancy's older sister, Arabella C. Green:
Ann Elizabeth Shepard, June 15, 1853
William Chapman Shepard, May 16, 1855

==============================

Ann Elizabeth Shepard
I have not been able to locate anything of her after the 1870 Census. She died before 1925.

William Chapman Shepard
He married Nancy Susan Vaught October 17, 1878 in Johnson County and they had at least four children;

Ethel Shepard, Born September 23, 1884. Died when?

In 1880, there was also another person listed as a daughter of William & Nancy:
Martha P. Shepard, Born about 1868. I don't know where she came from. She was not listed in the 1870 census with William OR Nancy. Possibly an adopted child. I don't know.

==============================

Arabella died between 1855 and 1858.

Ancil married Nancy October 7, 1858 in Estill County, KY. They had one child in Kentucky:
Millard Fillmore Shepard, Born August 10, 1859. He died before 1870.

Stella Shepard
I have not been able to locate anything of her after the 1880 Census. She died before 1925.

"Male Child" Shepard
I do not know anything else of this person, even if they lived into adulthood. Would have died before 1925.

Janie Shepard
I know almost nothing of Janie other than she was married to a Lyons. She was mentioned in a couple of times in obituaries. In 1925, when her brother, Lacourtus, died, the paper states she was living in Indianapolis. In 1929, when her sister, Mary, died, facts states that she was living in Lafayette. In 1940, when her brother, Thomas, died, the paper states that she was living in California.

==============================

Ancil died March 26, 1890 in Johnson County. I do not know where he is buried, but I would like to know.

After the death of her husband, Nancy went to live with her son, Thomas, near Elwood. She died May 2, 1916 in Elwood and she is buried in the Elwood Cemetery.

Our family has been looking to piece this part of our tree together for many years.

Thank you for your time.
