In 1870, 49-year-old Silas, 38-year-old Marion, 14-year-old Emma, 10-year-old Cornelia, 3-year-old William and 1-year-old Laura Sterry are living in Jeffersonville Ward 4, Clark, Indiana. In 1880, 60-year-old Silas is a widower. He and his children, 24-year-old Emma, 13-year-old William and 5-year-old Clara are living in Jefferson, Clark, Indiana. Marion must have died between 1875 and the date of the census. Silas is listed in "Haddock´s General and Business Directory of Jeffersonville, IN and surroundings for 1877-78" as a carpenter. He is also listed in "Caron´s Directory for the City of New Albany, 1880-81", which is in Floyd County, Indiana. All this is from Ancestry.
