Will exchange information with anyone on the LOCKARD family from Jefferson County, Indiana. Have lots on William LOCKARD, born ca. 1795 Kentucky. Married Sarah Elizabeth DAY on Sept. 13, 1829 Jefferson County. Moved to Mahaska County, Iowa, by 1860. Large family. Was William LOCKARD a brother to Joseph H. LOCKARD (1811 - 1887)? If so, then William's parents were James LOCKARD and Mary HICKS. Would very much appreciate help.

I too am searching for the Lockard's. Do you have in your line a Dudley Lockard from Indiana, b:8/11/1871 or 1873 d: 11/11/1925; m: Lula Bell Bunch. At some point they moved to Tennessee where Dudley died.

I thought I had found his father, Daniel Lockard, b: 1846 who had numerous siblings, one of which is James M. Lockard and William Lockard. there father was Thomas Lockard. I since have found discrepencies to make me look in other directions.

I believe James Lockard Smith b. 30 Jun 1859 d. 30 Oct 1910 in Marion County, IA was born in Jefferson County, IN, although it has not been confirmed. I have always felt that the Lockard in his name must have been a family name. He married Sarah Irena Lonis b. 12 Oct 1867 d. 14 Dec 1946 in Polk County, IA. Research by our Lockard family branch also showed Dudley Lockard to be the son of Daniel Lockard.Would like to know what discrepancies you found to make you think otherwise.

I am still trying to find the connection between this Lockard family and mine. I originally thought William R. was a brother to my James W. Lockard, but now I do not think he was. Do you have any information regarding Daniel LOCKARD's wife? I believe her to be DICY ANN MARLOW. His daughter Sarah was my g grandmother.
