"Aged Woman Jumps Into An Old Well.
Huntington, (Ind.) special: While
temporarily deranged, Mrs. Isaac Bare,
aged 75, jumped into an abandoned well in
an effort to end her life. Tor several years
she has had the care of an invalid son and
this and other troubles are supposed to
have unbalanced her mind. The well was
across the road from her home and was
covered with boards. With an axe she re--"
moved the boards and jumped in. Fass-ers- by
were attracted by moans coming
from the well and, investigating, found
the old woman lying at the bottom badly
wounded. She cannot recover."

My great-great-grandmother was a Mrs Isaac Bare of nearby Andrews, but she died in 1917 at the age of 77 after a fall that broke her hip and left her bedridden for a little over a year. Very curious as to who is the victim of this very sad story.

Does anyone in this list do lookups in local Huntington newspapers from the early 1900s?
