Edward Mize, an old citizen of Huntington Township, was born near Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, February 18, 1815. He was the son of Joseph and Catharine (Walker) Mize, the former of whom was born in Virginia, of German descent. When he was six years of age his parents removed to Wilkes Co., NC, where he grew up to manhood, working upon a farm. His father died there, and about 1832, he and his mother came to this county and settled in Section 28, Huntington Township. Mr. Mize has there pursued the vocation of a farmer ever since. Politically he supports the principles of the Republican party. He is a hard working man, and an honored citizen.
