Serena Beth Coon, 40, Russiaville, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at her home. She was born March 2, 1970, in Johnson City, N.Y., the daughter of Wayne and Judy (Anderson) Yocum. She married Bradley S. Coon on Aug. 21, 1993, at the First Baptist Church in Kouts, and he survives. She graduated from Kouts High School in 1988 and Faith Baptist Bible College in 1990. She was a homemaker. She attended First Congregational Christian Church. She was a member of Mothers of Preschoolers, and served as the 2002-2003 coordinator. She was involved in youth and worship ministries at multiple churches.
Survivors include her parents, Wayne and Judy Yocum, Noblesville; husband Bradley Coon, Russiaville; sons Chandler Coon and Ian Coon; daughters MacKenzie Coon and Sierra Coon, all at home; brother Wade Yocum and wife Heidi, Alpena, Mich.; sister Janelle Heald and husband Daniel, Noblesville; grandmother Lucille Yocum, Muscatine, Iowa; father-in-law and mother-in-law Allen and Jere Coon, Bringhurst, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at First Congregational Christian Church, 505 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo, with Pastor Jon Tice officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Russiaville Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stout and Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, and one hour prior to services at the church.
