This obituary for Lucien Alvis Staley is from Sheridan paper after December 2, 1929.

Lucien Alvis Staley, son of William H. and Abigale Hinshaw Staley, was born September 20, 1849 in North Carolina.
He was united in marriage to Lucinda Ann Reedy October 9, 1873. She passed away March 2, 1927. They were the parents of eight children, four dying in infancy. The remaining four are Mrs C.W. Eaton near Peru, Mrs. H. R. Cox, Indianpolis; Mrs. W. H Bennett and son Paul of Sheridan.
Many years has he lived in this locality. He was a prosperous, kind and obliging citizen every looking for the good in peoples lives. Having had a long, happy journey with his beloved wife, life after her going, seemed so empty and he spent much time in reading the sacred scriptures. He was a firm believer in the Bible and read it thru many times. He was anxious to go and be with the departed, also expressing a great desire to be spared extreme suffering over a long period of time and it seems his wish was granted for his hours of sickness were few. Suffering the second stroke of paralysis on Friday he quietly passed away Monday, December 2, 1929; age 80 years 2 months and 12 days, at his home on East First Street, his son Paul and family living with him.
Besides the children, he leaves three sister, Mrs A.J. Fox, Mrs. O. Robbins, Mrs. W.S. McMurtry and many nieces and nephews to mourn their loss.
