The death of Mrs. Lucy Staley, wife of L. A. Staley occurred at her home in Sheridan early Wednesday morning after a long illness of a complication of diseases, among which were leakage of the heart and stomach trouble. Mrs. Staley had been in poor heath for the past three years much of the time being confine to her bed and for the past few weeks had been known for some time that she could not get well. Mrs. Staley leaves the husband and four living children, three children having preceeded her in death. Those who survive are Mrs. Louie Cox, wife of Richard Cox, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Zona Bennett, wife of William Bennett of Sheridan; Mrs. Glennie Eaton, wife of Charles Eaton of near Logansport; and one one son Paul of Sheridan, a number of grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Staley was about 70 years of age. Her maiden name was Steele and she was born in Ohio and came to this state with her parents when quite young and following her marriage resided in Adams township for 25 years and only moved away from here after health failed aobut three years ago.
The funeral plans have not been definitely made as the family is waiting for a granddaughter to come from Florida, she having left there Wednesday evening and will probably reach Sheridan some time Friday. The funeral will likely be held Saturday forenoon. The buriral will occur in the Spencer cemetery at Sheridan.
