From the Sheridan Paper - March 1927
Lucindia Ann, daughter of Isaac and Ellen Reedy, was born in Highland Co., Ohio, February 9, 1857 and died at her home in Sheridan, March 2, 1927; age 70 years and 21 days. She moved with her parents to Indiana when about 10 years of age.
She was united in marriage with Lucien Staley October 9, 1873. To this union eight children were born, four of whom died in infancy. Those living are Mrs. Louie Cox of Indianapolis, Mrs. Glennie Eaton of near Peru and Mrs. Zone Bennett and Paul Staley of Sheridan. For more than half a century Mr. and Mrs. Staley have walked together as husband and wife. They have shared the joys and sorrows of life together, but death has broken this beautiful relationship and the wife and mother has slipped away to be with her Lord and Savior.
Her life has been lived, her deeds done and now she has gone to receive her reward. Mrs. Staley was of a quiet unassuming disposition, and while she had never been identified with any church, she lived a straight-forward, upright life. In the last days of her sickness she said all was well with her soul. She leave to murn her loss, the aged husband, four children, eleven grandchildren, and three great grand-children.
The end of her life has come to our loved one, wife, mother, grandmother, and we are left sad and lonely, but we bow in humble submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well.
