Surnames: Flanningan, Flaningan, Flaningam, Crecelius, Sinclair
Looking for information on Arison Crecelius Flaningam/Flaningam who was living in Bloomfield, Greene County, in the 1870 and 1880 censuses with his wife and children.
He was born in Harrison County in 1828 and is believed to be the son of Arison Flaningam born in New Jersey and Mary Polly Zubrotin Crecelius who died in Jan 1828 in Harrison County. This Arison would also be half-brother of Jesse Gaines Crecelius of Mississippi, son of Mary and an unknown father.
Father Arison Sr. remarried Letitia Sinclair in Aug 1828 in Harrison County.
There is a land purchase on record for an Arison Crecelius Flaningam who purchased 40 acres in 1844 near the White River in Greene County. It is likely the purchase was made by Arison Sr. since Arison Jr was barely 15 in 1844 at the time of purchase, and he followed this family to Burleson County Texas in 1860. But, I have come across conflicting information that claims Arison Sr.'s middle name was John in a book called "The Descendants of Jesse Gaines Crecelius 1815-1900". This middle name has not been proven.
It appears that Arison Jr. left Texas and came back to Indiana where he stayed and raised his family and died in 1894.
Any information on this family, including obits, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
