Obituary of Mary Fay Tima (BYERS) OLIPHANT [1861IN–1937IN]

Mrs. Mary Fay Tima Oliphant, seventy-six years old, the widow of Thomas Franklin Oliphant, died Sunday morning at her home in the south part of BLOOMFIELD.
Her final illness was only of one week's duration, though she had been in failing heath for several years.
For forty-six years she had lived in the home where she died. A daughter of Joel BYERS and Elizabeth (RAINBOLT) BYERS, pioneer residents of Jackson Township, she was born May 19, 1861, in that township and had never lived outside of Greene County.
Her marriage took place June 10, 1880, then she and her husband came to BLOOMFIELD to begin housekeeping. Her husband died February 7, 1929. In his lifetime he served a number of years as marshal of BLOOMFIELD and as Green County Circuit Court Bailiff.
She had been a member of the BLOOMFIELD Christian Church fifty-six years. She is survived by four sons and three daughters, Lessie, Charles, Carl and Claude Oliphant, and Mrs. Homer FODDRILL; Mrs. Ivan HARRIS and Dora Oliphant, all residents of this community. There also are ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a brother, Frank BYERS and two sisters, Mrs. Johiel STRAUSER, and Mrs. Alvadore WILSON, all of this community.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the BLOOMFIELD Christian Church, and burial took place in Grandview Cemetery.
