Obituary of James Henry FERGUSON [1840IN1930IN]

James Henry FERGUSON, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James FERGUSON, was born in BLOOMFIELD on February 9, 1840 and died February 10, 1930, being ninety years and one day of age.
In 1862 he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret LYONS, also of BLOOMFIELD. To this union were born seven childrenfive boys and two girlsand of this number three are deadtwo boys, Harry and Oliver, and one girl Serana. There survive him three sons and one daughter, namely: Lou, Frank, Jim and Tom. Seven grandchildren, Ward, Georgie and Nellie, children of Mr. and Mrs. Harry FERGUSON; Pearl, daughter of Oliver; Wilbur, Wendell and Charles, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas FERGUSON; one great-grandson, Donald Bert, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward FERGUSON.
The wife and mother died fifty years ago the first of January, and the mothers place was taken by his faithful daughter, Miss Lou FERGUSON, who still resides at the family home.
Mr. FERGUSON had lived in BLOOMFIELD all of his life, except eight that he lived in Fairplay Township.
The deceased had been a member of the Presbyterian Church ever since he was a small boy. He attended the Presbyterian Church regularly, sang in the choir and was constantly trying t express his devotion to his Lord, by his life and service.
The funeral services were conducted at the family residence Wednesday afternoon, the services in charge of Rev. Jack MASTERS.
Interment in Grandview Cemetery.
