Ferguson/Stone/Morris connection

The Ferguson genealogy in Greene Co. is pretty well established but I have two maternal lines that tie into the Ferguson that I have very little information on.

My 3rd geat-grandfather Samuel Ferguson (son of Thomas) was b June 15 1806 in Knox Co., KY. He moved to Greene Co. by 1830. and married a Sarah "Sallie" Stone. I have her birth as September 4, 1809in VA. I have her death as August 15, 1852 in Greene Co., IN.. She married Samuel abt 1830.

There were several Stones that lived in the same vicinty as the Fergusons. John Wesley Ferguson (Samuels brother) married Nancy Harriet Stone December 22, 1831. Could this could be a sister to Sallie?

Samuels son John Stone Ferguson (b August 4, 1836, in Greene Co.) married Eleanor Morris March 11, 1835. She was the daughter of David Morris who moved to Greene Co. from OH before 1850. and later moved to IA.

Any information on these Stone or Morris lines would be greatly appreciated.

My great great grandmother is Martha E. Stone, daughter of Enoch Stone. I don't have the info on where either of them were born, however, Martha married George Micajah Burch and he was born in Greene COunty Indiana, 26 SEP 1844. When going through some old family photos, we have pictures of some Morris's. I have a photo of a William Morris, but don't know how he is related. His photo was included in one of the family albums that my grandmother had. Could be a connection.

Hello, I too am researching the Ferguson line of John Stone Ferguson of Greene County, Indiana. My gfather David Dow Ferguson's parents were Michael Frances Ferguson and Martha Elzira Ferguson. So I have two lines of Fergusons. Michael Frances Ferguson's parents were John Stone Ferguson and Ellender Morris. John Stone Ferguson's parents were Samuel H. Ferguson and Sallie Stone. Ellender Morris' parents were David Morris and Barbara Wilhelm. I am dead ended at Sallie Stone, David Morris, and Barbara Wilhelm. I would appreciate any help especially with these dead ends. Thanks.

Hi Kathy,

I have the above mentioned lines as well, though like you, I'm dead-ended with the same names. I do have the Ferguson line going back further though if that's of any help. Since you are a Ferguson descendant of the same line, I'd love to get any information you'd be willing to share on your line.

I'm sending this via email as well, in case you miss this posting.

These look like studio portraits. I have a few Morris photos and am unsure how they are related. I also have one labelled "NA Morris". I can send you a scan of the picture if you would like to see it.

I am very interested in seeing the photos you have. I'll try e-mailing you. There was a William MORRIS in Green Co., In in 1930 but can't find him in 1840. I ma wondering if he is from my MORRIS line.
