Do you have information on the ancestry of the Greene County HATFIELD family? Is his father's name Ale? My notes indicate tha Wash was the gunsmith. I'm trying to find more on his daughter Nancy's husband (& family); she married Hiram (?) LAMB, possibly N. Carolina. Thanks.N. Carolina. Thanks.

According to Baber's history, Wash HATFIELD could "make the best gun, ...than any man in the county." Also, a little from the same book about Emanuel and Ale HATFIELD: "Emanuel HATFIELD, father of Ale HATFIELD, was b. in VA, and afterwards went to TN and remained there about 30 yrs., then came to Greene Co. at an early day. Ale HATFIELD had 2 wives and 12 children, 7 boys and 5 girls. Emanuel HATFIELD was the 3rd son of this family, and was b. 22 Dec. 1805, in Campbell Co., TN. He m. Nancy ANDERSON of Wayne Co., KY, and had 14 children." Also mentions a Mordica HATFIELD. Hope this helps y'all!

We have a friend whose father was a Glenn Eaber FIELDS born in Bushford, Green Co., IN. (b 1895). Glenn's father was a William FIELDS (b Dec. 1862) in IN. William moved his family to S.E. MO. They were located on the 1900 Stoddard Co. Soundex. Glenn's other siblings included a Dessie, Delpha and Mattie. Our FIELDS line is out of Randolph Co., IN. My husband descends from a Lansford FIELDS, traced from IN>TN>NC. At this time we do not have anymore info on William.

Check this out:
"HATFIELD and PHILLIPS Families of Eastern Kentucky and Southwest West Virginia" (by Harry Leon Sellards Jr., DeLand, FL, ©1993)

According to this source, Nelson HATFIELD was the s/o Mordicia Ale HATFIELD (1818-1869) and Milly RICHARDSON (1819-1875). Mordicia was a brother to George Washington "Wash" HATFIELD (1812-1884) and the s/o Ale HATFIELD Sr. and Elizabeth YOUNG. I only copied the one page, or I would go on.

I am looking for descendants of Nelson HATFIELD and Sophia COLLINGS, who were md. 26 Nov 1868 in Greene Co., IN. Their children included: Rachel (Arena), Eliza, Ruth, Jane, Mary, John, Grover and Golden HATFIELD (all b. 1870-1890). They lived in Center Twp. but moved to Lawrence Co., IN, before 1900. Need help!

Surnames: Fields, Lanter
Isaiah Fields died in Greene Co, where he did much preaching. However, he spent a good deal of his life in Martin Co. Can someone give directions to the Taylor Ridge Cemetery? Also, is there anyone who has pictures of Isaiah and any of his siblings? I am a direct descendant of his older brother (James) Iredell Fields who was born in 1802.
I have no pictures of anyone in that generation, although I am certain they are out there somewhere.

LANTER..I am also a descendant of Archibald and Theodocia Callahan Lanter. I have been told they are buried at the Kentucky Ridge Baptist Cemetery, close to Owensburg, but I cannot find any marker or tombstone.
