Looking for information about John W. Jones son of Josiah Benjamin Jones and Sarah J. Little. The details are as follows:
Josiah B. Jones 1833-1906 brn Virginia (wife Sarah J. Little brn in Virginia and died in Fairmount)

John W. Jones 1856-? probably about 1920 and unknown death place. He probably was married twice and my greatgrandmother died young, perhaps about 1890-1900. They also had family in the Pittsburg area.

Children of John W. Jones include James Everett Jones (1892-1950, Claud, Maude and Edith Jones. Everett is my grandfather. He was born in Fairmount and died in Anderson & was married to Iva Tate of Kokomo.

Any information about John W. Jones would be appreciated.

I am looking for his wife's name (probably 2 of them). I have a lot on him.

According to the bio in the county history, he married Terissa Moorman in 1877. That is the only wife listed for him there. They had 7 children.

Ok,,both of my great-grand fathers on my fathers side were John William Jones. My grandfathers father, was John William Jones. His father was Joshua Jones, born in Ohio and died In Fairmount. Joshua's father was Lewis of Greene county Ohio, born in Virginia, died in Ohio. Lewis's father was Benjamin, born in Virginia, died in Ohio.. On my grandmothers side, her father was John William Jones, born in Fayette C. Ohio and died just outside of Fairmount in the Fowlerton/Gaston area. Are you confused? I was when I started....I have all of the names in this group and will share if they seem to be close to who you are looking for. One more thing that makes this messed up. My father was John W. Jones.. and My brother is John. Thank heavens it stopped there.... Let me know if I can help...

Do you know how Josiah Jones (brn Virginia 1833, wife Sarah) fits into this family? Or is it a different family? My John W. Jones who is a son of Josiah. My grandfather is James Everett Jones, son of John. I cannot find John W.'s wifes name, because she died shortly after my grandfather was born.

That's not the same John W. Jones. But thanks. This father was Josiah B. Jones, mother Sarah.

PS. There must have been a real tradition of using the same names! My grandfather was James Everett Jones and my father James Arnold Jones, his brother James Richard Jones

Correction, my uncle was John Richard Jones (son of John W. Jones, and grandfather Josiah)
