LaVona,
I've found a newspaper article about the accident, dated May 16, 1892 (Logansport Pharos), which stated that the accident occurred on May 15, 1892. I've saved it as a pdf, so let me know at wimado@aol.com your email address if you'd like me to sent it to you. It is a long article, mainly discussing the accident. It does name those killed, including Higgs, and lists those injured as well.
Bon

Are you in contact with the Lanning family here in Brookville, IN. I think they still have a pretty large family reunion in the summer, and their local genealogy is well documented.

You may start that by contacting the Brookville Library, and finding the date and current president of the Lanning family reunion.

I am unable to tell if there might be a connection or not. My Robert Alexander family, after leaving PA, moved to KY, then to OH, then on to Indiana. I noticed your Nancy Ann Alexander's brother Peter was born in OH c1840 (1860 Decatur Co., IN census). But your William was b. c1818 PA and my Robert C. Alexander was b. c1777 in PA. One of his daughters was born 1827 in Hamilton Co., OH, so my family moved from PA quite early on. I still have not found the parents of Robert C. Alexander - but remain hopeful that one day they'll be "discovered". Thanks for posting and good luck. Janice Mauldin Castleman

I am trying to connect John Phillips, who entered the VA line from Georges Creek, PA during the Revolution, and eventually settled in Butler Co., Ohio, with Keziah Phillips from Georges Creek, married to James Davis. There was a Keziah Phillips also in Butler Co., Ohio, much younger than the Keziah from PA, but possibly a namesake. John’s daughter, Jemima, married James Wood in Botetourt, Co., VA before moving on to Ohio.

Any information or ideas will be appreciated

I have the Corp of Engineers listing of all persons moved from the original Sims cemetery to the new cemetery at New Fairfield. There are many unknowns shown on the listing. The only Turner shown is for your Olive Turner and it does not show her birth date only her death date of 1855. I have no contact info for the cemetery sexton and I am unable to travel to the cemetery. I have ancestors buried there as well. Sorry I can be of little help.

Gary Sacre

It is endowed for many many years to come. I have many pictures from the cemetery but not of the Turners.

Hi, I am looking for a Mary Tucker age 21 in 1880, with a son named Reuben Tucker age 1, they were living in the Poor House in Brookville, it says she was single, and I was wondering if this a out of wedlock baby or that she was divorced? I did not find her in 1870 census.or after 1880.
Reuben Tucker, age 30 was in the 1910 census with his wife Grace Fry Tucker, she died on Jan.5,1912 in Fairfield and was buried there in the Old Franklin cemt, Her parents were George D.Fry (he died on Feb 24,1913 and Addie ????B-in 1864?,Died ???? she was his second wife, George's mother was Sarah A. Fry and I believe his father was Samuel Fry.George might have had a sister named Jenny age 20 in 1880.
The would like any info on these families if anyone can help ?? The main reason for these questions, a son of Reuben Tucker ,was named Leander Tucker (born 1906-07?) was put in the Greensburg IOOF Home in 1912, after his mother died, he was adopted by the Edger Rozzell family here in Greensburg, he later became a banker and was well known here,Now his daughter is trying to find out info on her fathers family. She does not know any of this I just posted, because I just found it myself, would like to know more so I can give it too her So I also need to know what happen or where Reuben Tucker went too.Any help or new info greatly appreciated
Thanks, Russell Wilhoit,Decatur County genealogist Greensburg, Indiana contact me at russell.wilhoit.1@comcast.net

I have found reference to Isaac's immigration in 1817 from Ireland thru Baltimore ending up in Franklin Countyh. I have been unable to locate any referenceto Mary's immigration though. The reference I found an extract from was: FRANKLIN COUNTY, INDIANA, NATURALIZATION RECORDS, BOOK 1, 23 SEPTEMBER 1826 - 11 MARCH 1839. [Compiled by Rebah M.

I'm trying to find a parcel of land and the name of a female Harper living in Franklin county in 1823 on an 80 acre "plantation" owned by Samuel Harper. Samuel died in Hamilton county ohio in 1823. He left this land to his two youngest brothers, Nathan and David.( He had two other brothers, William and James. James, I presume ,lived in Hamilton County Ohio). I do not know the father's name. If David and Nathan didn't ' share and share alike' the land was to go to another brother Wiliam Harper. I have no other information regarding this property. no township or range or date of purchase. Perhaps it was owned by another Harper and left to Samuel. I also have no date of death for Samuel's mother.Since her daughter Nancy was in her 3o's in 1823 ( i have no idea of Samuel's age at death) I'm guessing this female harper was at least 65 . Would appreciate any and all help. Thank you.
