I suspect not related to Bixlers Mel Green writes about, but I am searching for Emma Elizabeth Bixler (b. 1870 or 1869), m. Eli Berkey (b. Sept. 24, 1866) by George Lambert, Minister of the Gospel. Marriage date is Nov 13, 1887 at Wakarusa. Eli Berkey was of St. Joseph's County while Emma E. was of Elkhart County.

It is possible that my Emma E. is the Emma E. that appears in the 1880 census of Elkhart Co., listed as 10 yrs of age. As listed in the census, her family was (father) Samuel Bixler age 36, (mother) Hettie age 30, (sister) Mary E. age 12, (sister) Lucinda age 5 and (sister) Hattie age 2.

Any information on any of these Bixlers would be greatly appreciated - information that would rule out the Bixlers in the census would be as appreciated as information that would connect them to my Emma E. The reason I am doubtful about the connection is that this family configuration does not match the family story.

I would be delighted to share information - the Berkey side is fairly well mapped. In addition, one daughter of Emma and Eli returned to Wakarusa and married a Brubaker in case this is of interest.
