Kapp--Raymond and wife Anna--Birdseye area in the 20's and 30's

Trying to find information about this family. I know virtually nothing about them, but they had an adopted son Michael. They were in the area in 1923, and 1932 per court records, but I've not come across anything else. Apparently they had some relationship to my family, as they adopted my great-aunt's son, Michael. He (Michael) died in Tell City in 1996

Thank you for posting the information. Butlerville makes for an unusual connection that is fairly odd. Are you connected with this family? I know some more information about the son and his natural mother, whose name was Ida GUNSELMAN. I first came across the Kapp's by searching the SSDI for people named Michael with the correct birth date, then I searched for Kapp's in the Dubois County Courthouse until I found the adoption record. If you or someone else is connected with this family, contact me, and I'll provide the other information that I know. It's really no big deal, but I wouldn't feel right posting it without knowing about any children etc. that might be living.

Thanks,

John

Dear Charles & John, I hope I am not too late with this message. I am trying to connect Raymond KAPPS to the KAPPS in Knox Co, Vanderburgh Co and Vigo Co Indiana. The other KAPPS are all related and I have much information going back to the late 1600's in Alsace. In looking at St. Joseph Catholic Church records in Jasper, I found the baptismal record for Raymond, with his parents as Mathius KAPPS and perhaps Catherine Jocher, very hard to read. Please contact me and let's see if we can connect.

My grandmother is Ida sister. I know that Ida son was born 24 August. 1923 and died 15 July 1996 at Tell City. I know that Peter is the only family member that had Ida in his death write up this was in 1957 but I do not know when or were she died, and where is she buried. I tried to talk to some he brothers before they died and they told me it was best to let sleeping dogs lie.
