Robert W. Stradling was born in Hamilton Twp., Delaware Co. IN, son of Robert W. and Mary Weir Stradling. He graduated from Royerton High School. Mr. Stradling, along with being a farmer his entire life, was one of the area's best-known historians. He had a life-long interest in local, Indiana and United States history. Mr. Stradling was a lifetime member of Eden United Church of Christ. He died Saturday, November 7, 1987, per "The Muncie Star" death notice published the following day. Please reference that obiturary for his birth date. Mr. Stradling's grandparents were Evan and Louise Weir.

Robert's wife, Ina L. Stradling, daughter of Emory and Jenny Reese Heaton, was born in Hamilton Twp., Delaware Co. IN, in 1902. She graduated from Royerton High School in 1920. Mrs Stradling was a lifetime member of Eden United Church of Christ and a 50-year member of Friendly Homemakers Club of Hamilton Twp. She died Sunday, June 30, 1991.

Robert W. and Ina L. Stradling were married 63 years. Survivors of the Stradling include two daughters: Vera Stradling Irwin and Lois Stradling O'Dell, and six grandchildren. Ina's death notice appeared in the "Muncie Evening Press," July 1, 1991. The Stradlings are buried in Union Cemetery, near Eaton, in Delaware Co., Indiana.
