Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Dell Buttermore, who lived three and one-half miles southeast of Auburn, will be held at the Dilgard funeral home in Auburn on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. A. P. Homer, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be made in Roselawn cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until after the funeral.
Cancer claimed the life of Mrs. Buttermore at the Sacred Heart Hosptial in Garrett Monday evening at 6 o'clock. She had entered the institution Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Butermore had been in poor health for two years and had been bedfast for the last two months. She had a major operation four years ago at the Garrett hospital and another a year and a half ago at the Dr. Bonnell M. Souder hospital in Auburn.
Mrs. Buttermore was born in Henry county, Ohio, and moved from Ohio to a farm in Jackson township 36 years ago. She was married on Dec 22, 1898, to Franklin D. Buttermore, who died 12 years ago. She continued to reside on the farm after her husband's death until a year and a half ago when she came to Auburn to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Velma Rainier, 705 South Indiana avenue.
Surviving in addition to the daughter in Auburn are a son, Chester Buttermore of near Auburn, one brother Tom Shafer of east of Auburn; three sisters, Mrs. Rilla Brown of east of Auburn, Mrs. Blanche Dull of Sturgis, Mich., and Mrs. Jennie Pickens of Bluffton; two grandchildren, Sharon Adele Rainier of Auburn and Jack Lee Buttermore of near Auburn.
She was an active member of the Jackson Township Home Bureau and was a member of the United Brethren church in her youth. (Newpaper and date unknown) Mrs. Buttermore died 31 May 1943.
