yes all of what you have said is the same line of medlands i am in so we are related so have a look at my family tree although it seems we are stuck at the same spot!!! but i am determined to get past this spot!!!! maybe together we can figure it out.

John G. is also my great grandfather. I haven't done much genealogy work for a while, as I had reached dead ends in most of the branches I was working on. My goal has been to trace back to all my immigrant ancestors and a few generations prior to them.

I believe John G. was the original Medland immigrant, born in 1822 in Devon, England. (Lots of Medlands in the Torquay area I'm told.) He married Bridget Flynn (b. 1835 in Co. Waterford, IR, d. 1922; dau. of William Flinn and Mary Keyly). He was son of John Medland and Sarah Gay. At least that's the info I have. I have not been able to trace the English or Irish ancestry back any farther than that.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Would be interested in anything you know.

I'm also the family photo archivist, but the photo of 'John G.' is only speculative.

My grandmother is Margaret Elizabeth (Reed) (Williams) Jackson. She was adopted by Don Francis Reed, her uncle. She was born in 1914 and passed away in 2006. She is buried in Orlando, FL.

George larose fathered two children in Toronto Ontario, a girl named Gail in 1943 and a boy sometime between 1944-1949 named Charles. Apparently Charles was sent up to Northern Canada and Gail (Gray) grew up mainly in Toronto. I don't have any info other that but am looking into this side of my family. At the time, the mother's (my grandmother) name was Alice Ellen Gray. If anyone has information on the Larose family, I would really appreciate it. Don't know where else to look....Thanks, Penny

Rueben was my great grandfather. His son John Everett was my grandfather from Columbia Tennessee. My father, Roland Eugene Descans, moved to Oklahoma in the 1940's and his side of the family is still here.

That would be wonderful! It would be nice to have some pics of them! The information I posted was info I found in some of my dad's papers, as I said. He had no idea what a gem they were for me!! It contained info I had been looking for for quite some time! I would love to have copies of the photos! Thanks so much! I have a large photo of a family reunion in sepia, about 150 people, men, women and children, and on the back all it says is "Shaefer Family Reunion". No names and no date, but it looks like about late 1880's.

My ggrandfather was also Wilmer Otis. I believe Alzine was Wilmer's mother-in-law, the mother of Nettie (or Jessie) Saylor (Sailor), Wilmer's wife. I believe Johnson was Alzine's brother. Carroll County, Indiana is in the west central part of the state.

So, Wilmer's Parents were: Henry B. Robinson, b. 2.13.1841 and d. 2.20.1870 and Hanna C. (or Catherine H.) Bechdol, b. 3.5.1846 and d. 11.24.1909. Their children were: 1) John Arelins, b. 1.30.1866 and d. 2.20.1872 and Wilmer Otis [My ggrandfather], b. 11.28.1867 or 1868 and d. (c) 1938. Wilmer's mom remarried (1872) James Spear Miller (who already had 5 children) b. 1818 and d. 1880. Their children were (1) Elsie Mildred Nouvella (1873-1950), m. George Rankin Wagenseller, (2) Earl b. ? and d. ? and (3) Mary Maud (1876-?), m. Earl Smith.

I think I have the "missing link" you are looking for. I searched and searched for info on Wilmer's father and mother; by chance, I came across a hand written document in my father's papers that had the genealogy I had been searching for! I couldn't believe my luck in finding it. It lists Wilmer's father and his siblings, Wilmer's mother and her siblings and a few other things. As soon as I find it, I will post it here.

I am also a ggrandchild of Wilmer O Robinson, through his son Harry Strode. I have been unsuccesful in finding any additional information on Wilmer's parents and would be very interested in the information you mentioned from your aunt. I have a photo copy of the Robinson Bible birth/death pages and can see that James Robinson (birth 1798) married Mary Beckham (1806-possibly). However the next generation logged in the Robinson line is Wilmer. I've been unable to find the missing generation to link them together.

I would be very interested in exchanging information with you.

Polly Beebe is the daughter of Nathan Beebe of Huron County and not the same one as Louisa Beebe, daughter of Eli Putnam Beebe of Michigan. Eli Putnam Beebe never lived in Huron County, Ohio but his son Oscar, moved there later in life when working on the railroad. Oscar was my gr grandfather. Louisa/Louise Beebe married John Tate and was living in Indiana in 1916 as mentioned in her brother, Melville/Melvin Beebe's obituary. Mellville Bruce Beebe Obituary

I am looking for information on Anna Louella Stetler Butler. She married in Howard County in 1888 to Abraham Butler. In 1890 Abraham Butler married again in Cass county. I can't find a death record or cemetery record that includes Anna Stetler Butler anywhere. I am thinking she may have died in Cass county.

Her parents moved to Genessee co., MI and lived in
West Forest Twp., Genesee Co., MI in 1860 census and other census.

I have info from her brother, Melville/Melvin's obituary that She married JOHN TATE and lived in
Logansport, Cass Co., Indiana in 1916. Cannot find any record of her or John Tate. there is a James Tate and Louisa but census says she was born in Indiana.

Would there be a property map showing any Tates in Logansport around 1916.

She was in the

Ruth Bias age 97 years of West Union, Ohio died Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Adams County Manor. Mrs. Bias was born July 26, 1914 the daughter of the late Harley and Daisy (Jadwin) Davis in Washington Court House Ohio.

Mrs. Bias attended the Northside Church and was a member of the Ladies Circle at the church.

Survivors include one daughter Shirley Chandler of West Union, Ohio; one son Roger Davis of Winchester, Ohio; a sister Elva Tolle of West Union, Ohio; a brother Leonard Davis of Sabina, Ohio; five grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home, with Richard Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 1:00P.M. the day of the service.

I found 4 different listings for the birth of Daisy Florence Jadwin, 3 indicates she was born 28 Dec 1881 and the other indicates 17 Aug 1881. All agree her parents were David Jadwin and Elizabeth Allen and took place in Bearfield, Perry county, Ohio. She is in the 1900 census with her parents David, 40, and Elizabeth, 45, in Range, Madison county, Ohio. She is listed as 17 with a birth in Aug 1882. She must have married soon after that as in all other censuses she is with her husband. Hope this helps. Don

Looking for any information on John Brower who lived in Cass County, IN between 1838 and 1853. I found in 1842 where he owed taxes and was about to lose his 160 acres on the South East quarter, section: 10, Town: 27, Range: 2 east. I believe this was Clay County at the time? He is found in the 1840 census records for Cass County (no twp listed), he was born Bet. 1760–1770 and living with him is one son age between 20-25 (his son Jeremiah would be 25) and one daughter around the same age. John Brower was born in New York. Other spellings for John Brower would be Brown, Brevoer, Brewer, Brover, etc. which seems to be a common mistake in some of the newspaper articles I have found and census records in my research.

Am looking for the cemetery that James Polk Conrad, d. 5/17/1916 is found. His obit (Logansport Pharos Tribune) says the service was at Bethlehem M.E. Church and interment in the adjacent cemetery. Would you know of the cemetery? If so, really would appreciate a picture of the marker.
