Mrs. Jane Eldridge, an old and esteemed citizen of this city, breathed her last this morning, at 4:30 o’clock, at her home on Market street. Mrs. Eldridge was eighty years of age, and one of the first settlers of this county, and a lady beloved and respected by all who knew her. One by one the old pioneers are passing away, and soon not one will be left to tell the tale of hardships which were endured by them in bringing into subjection the unbroken forests of fifty years ago. Tenderly and lovingly lay them away in their last resting place, for it is to these dear old pioneers that all who live and enjoy the pleasures of our present high state of civilization, owe a tribute of love.
