My ancestor grandfather, Joseph Campbell moved from Belmont Co, OH to Brown County, IN before 1848, as he plotted out the land for the New Bellsville community and donated land for the church in 1848.
Another ancestor grandfather, Dr. Samuel C Wilson moved from Belmont Co to the New Bellsville area in Brown Co about the same time.
Most the Campbells, Wilsons, and Deavers are buried in the New Bellsville Baptist Church cemetery. There are other Wilson relatives buried up the hill from the church, but I don't remember the name of that cemetery.
I do know that the Campbells, Deavers and Artis families were in Maryland, before they moved to Belmont Co, OH.
I read in a book about the settlement of Ohio that a lot of the people who settled in Belmont Co, OH were Quakers. However, most of our family in Brown Co, IN went to the Bellsville Baptist church.
There sure are a lot of families in Brown Co, who migrated about the same time from Belmont Co, OH. Curious!!
