I responded to another comment thread you started about Clouse and Hawk families in Lawrence, specifically a Clifford son of James Clouse. Your family might be related to mine.

I don't know anything about either the Clouse family or Hawk family being in Brown County. The only thing that comes to mind is that James Wesley Clouse lived and worked (with his family) in Brown Township, Washington County, IN. I have the documents to prove he and his family were there in the years 1870, 1872, and 1880.

One of James Wesley Clouse's sons was James R. Clouse. The son married Louisa "Lula" Hawk.
