My gr-grandparents, Helena (Roth) and Peter Niichel, lived and raised a family, farming in the area near Fowler, Dunnington, and Ambia, from around 1883 to 1910. There were others named Roth in that area and I believe them to be siblings (or cousins) of Helena. Catherine Roth was married to Henrici Altepeter, and they were all intertwined as godparents, sponsors, or witnesses, at religious events (baptisms, marriages, etc.)

I have been trying to trace the Roths back to Germany, but have had no luck so far. If anyone has information concerning these families, I would be eternally grateful!y grateful!
