FOUND DEAD IN HIS BED
Dr. Anderson Watson Dies Suddenly At Rooming House
The Cause of His Death is Not Known - Justice Matthews is
Investigating the Case.

Dr. A. Anderson Watson, a former Indianian, but for the past month or two a resident of Houston, was found dead in bed early yesterday morning at the rooming house of Mr. Louis Jones, 410 San Jacinto street.

Deceased had been stopping at the house about a week and according to Mr. Jones had acted in a peculiar manner ever since he rented the room. Justice Matthews did not render any verdict and he is still investigating the case.

The body was turned over to Undertakers Wall & Stabe and is held awaiting instructions from relatives.

It was told Justice Matthews that Watson came from Earl Park, Benton county, Indiana, close to the Illinois line and not far from Chicago.

Several stories were told yesterday by parties who claimed to know that Watson had attempted to commit suicide on previous occasions, but Justice Mathews said there was nothing to indicate from his investigation that the deceased had taken his own life last night.

Since Dr. Watson’s arrival in Houston he had received a letter announcing the death of his father at Stanhope college, Castle Douglas, British Isles. This news made him sad and melancholy.

It is stated that the deceased leaves a brother in the British Isles and a wife and four children in Earl Park, Ind. The wife has been communicated with, a letter left by deceased showing that they were shortly expected here.
