Jonas E. Schwartz, 58, RR 1, Bryant, died Friday in Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
He was born Sept. 7, 1935 in Geneva, the son of Dan J. and Esther (Ebersol) Schwartz. He was married March 25, 1962 to Emma M. Eicher, who survives.

He was a member of the Order of the Old Amish Church and had lived in Jay County for 28 years.

Other survivors include five sons, Danny Z. Schwartz, Sammy Z. Schwartz, Johnny Z. Schwartz, Jonas Z. Schwartz and David Z. Schwartz, all of Bryant; nine daughters, Mrs. Sam (Debra) Graber, Geneva, Esther Z. Schwartz, Fannie Z. Schwartz, Katie Z. Schwartz, Mattie Z. Schwartz, Martha Z. Schwartz, Barbara Z. Schwartz, and Mary Z. Schwartz, all of Bryant; six brothers, Menno D. Schwartz, Seymore, Mo., Jacob D. Schwartz, Sugar, Ohio, and Christian E. Schwartz, Joseph E. Schwartz, Aaron E. Schwartz and David E. Schwartz, all of Geneva; seven sisters, Mrs. Andy (Anna) Mast, Mrs. Amos (Sarah) N. Eicher and Mrs. Dan (Barbara) Hilty, all of Geneva, Mrs. Ernest Girod, Freedom, NY, Mrs. Eli (Magdalena E.) Coblentz, Portland; Mrs. Christian (Elizabeth) Graber, Berne; and Mrs. Peter (Leah) Schwartz, Seymour, Mo. and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 am at the Jonas E. Schwartz residence, Bryant. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.

Bishop Milton Shetler is in charge of services and Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, is in charge of arrangements.
