Services will be held Thursday for Daniel E. Hilty, 69, rural Monroe, relative of several rural Geneva residents.

Hilty died Monday afternoon at his home. He was a self-employed shoe repairman and a member of the Old Order Amish.

He was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Adams County to Peter and Emma L. Schwartz Hilty. On Dec. 25, 1943, he married Rosa R. Schwartz, who survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters; a brother, Joseph Hilty, rural Geneva; four sisters, three stepbrothers including Amos Hilty and Toby Swartzentruber, both of rural Geneva; two stepsisters, including Joni Hilty, rural Geneva; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9 am Thursday in the Daniel E. Hilty residence, Adams Street, Extended and County Road 50, near Monroe. Bishop Menno S. Girod will officiate and burial will be in Schwartz Cemetery.
