HIRAM SPRUNGER DIES IN BERNE
BERNE, Ind. March 14 - Hiram A. Sprunger, 62, manager of the Berne Overall and Shirt Co. for more than 25 years, died at 7:40 p.m Saturday at his home in Berne, following a three-year illness of carcinoma.
Born in Adams County, June 2, 1887, he was a son of Abraham A. and Magdalena Neuenschwander Sprunger, and was a lifelong resident of the county.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Berne.
Surviving are his wife, Rufina; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Walter Zuercher, of Berne; one brother, Albert N. Sprunger of Berne; two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Baumgartner and Mrs. Ella Sprunger, both of Berne; and a foster sister, Miss Jennie Miller of Fort Wayne. Four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Mennonite church, the Rev. Olin K. Krehbiel officiating. Burial was in the M.R.E. cemetery.
