MISS LIECHTY, 81, DIES AT BERNE

BERNE, Ind. March 15 - Miss Judith Liechty, 81, who retired in 1942 after clerking in a local store more than 40 years, died at 6:20 p.m. yesterday at her home after a long illness.

She was a native of Monroe Township and a lifelong resident of this community.

Surviving are a brother, Jeff Liechty, and two sisters, Miss Helena Liechty and Mrs. Adelina Lehman, all of Berne, and a foster sister, Miss Agnes Sprunger, a missionary in Africa.

The body, removed to the Yager Mortuary, will be returned to the residence, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Mennonite Church of which she was a member, with the pastor, the Rev. Owen A. Krehbiel, officiating. Burial will be in MRE Cemetery.
