DEATH TAKES ROMAN D. RYF EARLY TODAY
Well-Known Young Man is Victim of Long Illness
FUNERAL WILL BE WED. P.M.

Roman D. Ryf, aged 25, passed away this morning at 6:30 at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Emma Reusser, one mile north of Berne. Death came as a welcome relief to the young man after a period of suffering of about two years, pulmonary tuberculosis having been the cause of his death. Although his passing away had been expected for some time, it brought sorrow to his many friends at Berne and Fort Wayne.

Roman D. Ryf was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Simon, 2710 Gary St., Fort Wayne. He was born on the Ryf homestead, in Monroe Twp., near Berne, Feb. 23, 1909, where he also passed away August 27, 1934. He attended the Berne grade schools and the James Smart and Central high schools of Fort Wayne. For some time he was an employee at the Wayne Tank Co., until poor health forced him to give up his position. He spent three months in the state of North Carolina in the hopes of regaining his former strenghth; however, this being of little avail. Fourteen months he spent at the Irene Byron Sanitarium, coming to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Emma Reusser, about ten days ago.

Mr. Ryf was a fine young man of congenial disposition. Great fortitude was exhited by him during the long time of his illness. He was converted under the ministry of Rev. Howard Paschal at the Old-Time Religion Tabernacle where he faithfully attended the services and was active whenever his health permitted. He gave a good testimony during the time of his illness and was thus made a blessing to those calling on him.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, three uncles and five aunts, his fiance, Miss Leola Simon, and a host of relatives and friends. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Ryf, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Emma Reusser, and at 1:30 at the Cross Reformed church at Berne. Revs. Howard Paschal and J. L. Conrad will be in charge of the service. Interment will be at the MRE Cemetery.
