WANETA F. WALCHLE
Waneta F. Walchle, 90, Nokomis, Florida, a resident of Decatur until moving to Nokomis in 1972, died at 2:21 p.m. Saturday (Florida time) in Venice, Florida.
She was born on April 3, 1908 in Adams County to Virgil and Anna Belle Wagner Laisure. She married Walter J. Walchle on June 29, 1925; he died on December 7, 1983.
She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Church of Christ at Magley, as well as the Women of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary, both in Decatur.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Violet M.) Sheets, Venice, Florida; five sons: Dallas J. and Randle D. Walchle, both of Englewood, Florida; Russel L. Walchle, Decatur; Larry A. Walchle, North Port, Florida; and Walter L.. "Junior" Walchle, Nokomis; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A grandchild and 11 brothers and sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Ray Cemetery, west of Monroe. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
