Thanks, that helps. You can search free records at www.familysearch.org
I see a birth for a daughter for a Richard Henry Lemmerhirt and Alice Emile Bassmann in Texas at that site - perhaps he was there for work, or the military?

If you look at this page at findagrave, it appears that Richard's parents are buried in Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. His father's name was possibly Elmer F.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSln=l...;

I have not found Richard in the 1930 or 1940 census yet, I am thinking his name was probably mispelled, I will keep looking.
It will help if you post on the Jefferson County, Wisconsin message board, since that is where they lived.
Charles Seiforde Kelly parents were Howard Kelly and Wilhemina "Minnie Gluth. Charles was born January 4, 1904 in Cook County, Illinois.
He married Myrtle Markwell on 21 March 1933 in Brookfield, Illinis. Myrtle is my husbands aunt.
The Birth certificate for Charles Seiforde Kelly states Howard Kelly was born Detroit, Michigan.
Minnie Gluth born Three Oaks, Michigan.
Howards occupation was Railroad caller and she was a housewife.
Minnie was 37 when Charles was born (1904). His father, Howard was 43 at this time.
So I was trying to locate the grandparents of Charles S. Kelly. Two different names for Mother. Welhemina or Minnie? Who were the grandparents.
This all the information I have at this time. Hope you can help. Thanks Terry

Looking to fill-in a dead-end branch of a 3rd cousin in the family tree. Having trouble finding any record about her at all. According to family folklore, she grew up on a farm in a rural, Midwestern county.

L. Kuntz (not sure what her full birth name is)
Female
Illinois
DOB: 1932
2 Children
- (Male - DOB abt 1955)
- (Female - DOB abt 1952)
Widower
- (Husband died in the 1950s)
Family
- (She came from a large farming family - had 12 siblings, 4 brothers, 8 sisters)

Thanks for reading. Any possible matches would be of help to give me some leads to see if she matches with other info I have. Thank you.

Sadly no. I don't have this. I am researching all this from the England...so I'm not in the US.

My grandmother's father was Alva F Hawthorne, and mother was Marie McClain. Marie's mother? I'd like to find her. For my own peace of mind I'd like to know if they registered with the Dawes roll or other places or of marrying a European man thus meant you were "safe".

If that's what they did - married white men and "hid" then they did me a huge disservice. I know things were rough - I have heard stories that gave me nightmares - but in the end now it boils down to being withheld one's own identity.

I hope I am wrong about the last part. I hope I find them somewhere, that they admitted they were Native American.

My grandmother was Ms Evangeline Marie "Pepper" Hawthorne.
She married James Leon Crain in 1942 and had a son by him, my father Terry Lee 1945.

My grandmother's mom was Marie McClain (this was her name as a married woman). I know nothing about her, more than tragic stories. Marie spoke Cherokee. So did her mother. My own grandmother? I don't know.

Can someone shed some light on my background? Thank you.

You should review the records that are available online via Kalocsa diocese e-archive, for Bački Breg the records are for the period 1826 -1922 and will include her birth and baptism record -which will give you full and accurate neames of her parents and explore further down in time her family history and connections to other people you mentioned.

I reviewed the records for 1920 and she was not born there that year.

Consider as options:

- wrong birth year
-wrong place of birth
- other denominations

About that e-archive you can read here, and find the links to listing of all available parishes as well as a link for registering:

http://www.rodoslovlje.com/forum/vojvodina/kalocsa-roman-cat...

***

"Rodoslovlje" Serbian Genealogy Society
www.rodoslovlje.com
