Surnames: Vukelic or Vukelich
I'm trying to locate my Grandmother's death certificate. I know that she is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemtery . Her burial date is April 29, 1914. Her name was Mary Vukelich ...sometimes she also went by Maria or Manda. Being it was a catholic burial I'm sure in those days you had to go by a saints name which Manda would be Mary or Maria. Her 9 year old son is also buried with her. Now the dilema is I haven't been able to find her death record. Since she died in 1914 someone told me it wasn't mandatory to file one. So the next best thing would try to find the church her funeral was in. Can anyone direct me in the right path. I've tried the ST. Clair County Clerk's office but they didn't seem to know...She may have lived in Fairmount City or East St. Louis around that time. My father was born April 27, 1913 in Fairmount City, Illinois..I got his birth record.....she died a year later. We know she's there...just can't find any info on her...
Thank you for any help you can direct my way....
