Trying to find a marriage or census records for Frank DeMarco and Wife Mamie Barone.
Mamie is the daughter of Lucca Barone and Francesca Tramuta. Mamie was born between 1889 and 1895 in I believe Palermo/Sicily.
Mamie had two siblings that I know of, Michele (Mike) b. 1894 and Calogero (Charles) b. 1889.
Have had ZERO luck finding any of the Barone's in ANY census records. I know Michele, Mamie and Charles arrived 1913 and settled in Chicago.
According to newspapers, Lucca Barone was shot in the leg by one of the DeMarco brothers (Frank or Joseph). Another article states that Frank DeMarco was the son in law of Lucca Barone, who accidentally shot Lucca in the leg at the Barone home, 1925. The Marquette Police had been in search of Lucca's son Michael in hopes that he could shed some light on the accident.
I would like to find ANY census records for the Barone's as well as a marriage for DeMarco/Barone.
If possible, I was hoping to find more about the shooting and what happened to the DeMarco's after the arrest.
The 2 articles I have are 22 MARCH 1925 and 23 MARCH 1925, Chicago Tribune. Unable to find anything after the arrest, no obituary, no court date?
Michele and wife Maria Castallano lived at 907 S. Fairfield, Chicago at the time of the shooting. Later, they lived at 3757 S. Washtenau.
Michele and Maria had three children, Johanna marie, Frances Margo and Louis, the youngest, born in 1929.
