I have found a will for Stephen McCormack, 1870/71. It just mentions two daughters that were shown in his household in the 1850 census. No wife mentioned so it looks like he just had the two children surviving him.

Patricia

I didn't find James's marriage in my books. I did find Robert's. The next entry to his marriage is for Wm. D. Stevenson to Elizabeth Edwards on 29 Dec 1853. Parents names aren't listed for marriages this early.

There aren't any marriages listed for those surnames in the later yrs. The surname is listed in the index but they are for the parents names. One being for one of Martha's marriages to Sol W. Carter.

The only thing I can find for a Henry Edwards in the early books is:

Chancery Partition. Dower & Deed Records Index:
Henry H. Edwards, year 1888, PD-box 002
Henry Sr. Edwards, year 1888, PD-box 001

I have inventories for alot of the Wms. Co. cemeteries but I only have the ones that has been published and for sale. What I do have does not cover all of the Wms. Co. cemeteries but the majority of them. I'm guessing that the
Webber Campground isn't one of the cemeteries listed in my books.

Patricia

Co. books which includes, marriages to 1904, obits, wills, guardianships, newspaper excerpts, births etc. and didn't find anything on the people you were searching for. I did find listed the three marriages for Martha which you seeem to have.

There was a couple of mentions of the family of James Thomas and his wife who was also a Willhite.

Sorry I couldn't find what you were looking for!

Patricia

Williamson County couldn't find his death certificate or the inquest report for the accident. All I had was the information that Hollida's wife, Daisy (Hall) Jeter Pettiford, my great grandmother, that he had been killed in a coal mine and a small section from the book "Who Am I" A Jeter Family Sage.

I'm interested in the others listed, as they are Hollida's cousins.

Again, thank you for all your help.

D.
The newspaper in West Frankfort, IL is the Daily American. The other one that covers a large section of Southern Illinois is the Southern Illinoisan located in Carbondale, Jackson, IL. Ancestry.com has a good section of the Southern in their database. The Southern was publishing in the 1930. Benton also had a newspaper running at the same time, and Marion's paper I think is called the Marion Daily. The Williamson County Historical Society has a web page that list some of the names of the newspapers in the area.

I was able to get a large section of my relatives obits. and other stories from Ancestry's database.

D.
Hi:

Do you have any info on a Hollida Jeter who died 15 Dec 1911 at the Peabody No. #3 coalmine in Williamson County, IL. I think the mine was close to Marion, somewhere in the area between Marion, Carbondale, Herrin, and Carterville. I do know that there was an inquest, but no one seems to be able to find any records.

D. Andrew

Yes, but I am expecting my daughter and her family tomorrow from Tennessee. All our other kids and families will come to visit and I will send you more details after they all leave. Hope that is OK as I am worn out with cleaning, etc. They'll only be here a few days. They live way over near Virginia and we only get them for a visit about once a year. We go there once, too. So, will be a happy visit for all.

We drove out and took pictures at the cemetery where Phebe and James Smmonsband some of the Cashs were buried. It is a beautiful little church and cemetery. I am also interested in the Durhams buried there. I believe they came up out of Robertson Co, TN about the same timevas the Grimes and Simmons. Davidson Co, TN where Phebe Grimes and James Simmons married is right next to Robertson. Seems a whole group of families lived closeby there and migrated up into Williamson Co, Illinois together at about the same time.

Barton and Nancy are my g-g-grandparents. Barton was born around 1832 in Baden Germany and came to the USA when he was 14. Without my records in front of me, I believe I found him on the 1850 IL census. Nancy is his second wife. He came to TX and settled near Fort Worth (south west of there). I have been in touch with some descendents on his son and one told me that Barton changed his name when he came to the US. The relative did not give me any info on how he knew this or what records he had found that proved this. I'd love to visit with you on what information you have and how you are related to him.

I would be interested in more about CJ Jones. The age doesn't seem right, but maybe it is his son. Anyway, I would like to look at what you have and try to figure it out. Thank you so much.

Loraine
