Looking for info on the George W. COMBS family, identified in the 1910 Census as farming in
Wabash County, Mt. Carmel Precinct. There are 2 orphans listed as living with the family, one of which is Stacy M. CARDINAL, age 13, who is my great-grandmother. Stacy was born in
Indiana, and it is unknown how long she was with the
Combs family and when/why she came to
Illinois from
Indiana. Does anyone have any information on Stacy or the
Combs', or on adoption/orphans in this time period? Thanks.
