Not my line; no further information.

Undated, unidentified newspaper clipping:
DOROTHA PARMENTER.
The deceased was the daughter of James and Sarah Miller (Voughn) Campbell who were united in marriage in North Carolina in 1810. She was one of thirteen children, six girls and seven boys all of whom are dead, except Sarah R. Snyder, widow of Solomon R. Snyder, deceased, of Monroe City, John Campbell of Portland, Oregon, and Thomas B. Campbell of Cornelius, Oregon. The deceased was born August 6th, 1822 and was united in marriage to David Beauchamp about 1849 and commenced housekeeping near Mt. Carmel, Ill. and has ever since lived there. To this union were born three children, two of whom, John and George, are still living.

About 1845? her husband died and in 1848 she was remarried to Isaac PARMENTER, an old soldier of 1812, who died in 1870, at the age of 80 some odd years. To this last union were born four children, two boys and two girls, two of whom, Maria Middleton and Allen PARMENTER, are still living.

The deceased at the age of seventeen united with the M.E. church, and was a constant member and attendant at this church until she married her last husband who was a member of the Christian church, when she went with her husband into the church of his choice.

She has always been a kind wife, a fond and loving mother and a good friend. There is no doubt about her christian life for on her death bed she would keep saying, "I am going home to Jesus, to die no more."

The deceased came here a few weeks ago on a visit to her sister and was taken suddenly ill from which she never recovered and died October 19, 1893. [penciled in: 71y 2m 13d].

The friends and daughter and three sons were called, and did all that earthly hands could do for a fond mother. The corpse was taken home near Mt. Carmel Thursday on the one o'clock train. The funeral was preached at the late residence of the deceased Friday at 11 o'clock by Elder Couch of the Christian church. The interment was made at Hallock Cemetery, where a large crowd of sorrowing friends... ... ...{missing piece]

Hand written document from the archives of Etta (Rigg) Smith, deceased:
"David Beauchamp was Born the 21st day of Aug A.D. 1813. David Beauchamp Died the 17 day of August A.D. 1847 age 34 years 11 mon 26 days.
Dorothy Campbell was Born Aug. 6. 1822 and married to David Beauchamp in 1839 and died Oct. 19. 1893 [year crossed out]. Their 3 sons were George W., John N or W and William Beauchamp."

Isaac Parmenter of Wabash County, Illinois was my great-great grandfather. One of his sons, Albert, married Julia Brines in the late 1880s and they had one child, Grant. Grant was my grandfather. Albert and Julia died while Grant was still a child. His mother's family, Smith, also of Wabash County, moved with him to Saint Louis around 1900. Would enjoy hearing from you.

I received a notice on my email just today. I am very interested in learning more about Edward Brines Birthplace, parentage, etc. Seems to be an unsolved mystery. My husband and I are going to Boston in Sept. Hopefully I willget a chance to research a bit while there. I descend from Edward and Patience thru son Russel; and his son Henry. My mother's father was Roswell, son of Russell who married Mary Ann Kennard. Would love to hear from you Carol Gingrich

Doctor Ben ws my Mothers uncle, and somewhere here I have picture of him . She tells wonderful stories about him. He was apparently a very kind man and often treated farmers animals when he was on the road trips to care for people, mom used to ride with him in his buggy, but we would not let her go into the houses where he was treating someone to protect their privacy. Often times when he was done, say treating the wife for something the farmer would then take him out to the barn and have him look at an ill animal. He loved to tell stories and kept Mom entertained with them while he was driving and always when he went to a farm house the kids came running out because he always had a pocket full of penny candy for them. He always gave Mom one piece while she waited in the buggy for him to return.

his parents were Ed and Daisy Brines ,they lived in Champagne Illinois. When this family came to illinois they came from somewhere in Pennyslvania according to Mom. They were the proprietors of the Florsheim shoe store in Champayne? spelling is not correct but don't know how to spell it.. Daisy is the sister of Winifred Geraldine Parmenter, who is my grandmother. This information comes from my Mom Lois Hunt.
