I am searching for the family of Amazi Davis Anderson born 1842 we believe in Union County Illinois. We thought that his parents were Mark and Polly Anderson, but a recently uncovered copy of Mark's will names Amazi as his nephew. It now appears that Amazi's parents died very young and he was raised in his Uncles household. Mark was born in Tennessee in about 1798, lived in Union county for at least 20 years then moved to Texas somewhere between 1840 and 1850. I have searched the census records for Union County for 1830-1860 and there are several other Anderson families listed on them. Since many members of a family often moved together, I am hoping that one of them will be related to Mark and Amazi. I am particularly interested in Uriah, Tillman, Zebedee, and Wyatt Anderson They were all born in Tennessee at about the same time as Mark between 1792-1799. They lived in Union County during the same time as Mark and often appear on the census records within a few lines or pages of each other. Amazi may also have had siblings that were split up between relatives and neighbors when his parents died.
