My second great grandfather, Absalom Wooliscroft, was a Methodist minister who died in Peoria on a religious outing in 1853. He had moved his family to Tazewell County from Maysville, Kentucky in about 1846. Absalom was born in Hanley, England and had a first wife, name unknown. By her, he had at least two children, Mary (1839) and Rebecca (1828). With my GGgrandmother, Harriet Nowland, he had at least four children, John (1847), Sarah, Armie and Anna. Some of these (other than John - from whom I descend) may have been children by his first marriage. I am not certain of their mothers. Anyway.... I cannot find any information on Absalom's first wife. I also do not know which cemetery Absalom is laid to rest in, though it may be close to Washington. Can anyone help me find more on these Wooliscrofts?
