George Nagel (born in Germany 8/10/1833 - 2/28/1910) married Catherine White (born in Germany 5/20/1835 - 2/26/1904).
the 1870 census listed George and Catherine with the following children (see attached image):
John - 11 years old - born in Hanover
Minnie - 6 tyears old - born in Hanover
Teressa - 3 years old - born in Hanover
I have never been able to find anything on a John or Teressa Nagle.
There was another daughter born, Mary Elizabeth Nagle born in Illinois on 1/20/1870 (her 1st husband was Levi Merchant, 2nd husband Andrew Boyer). Her obituary only listed her siblings as Minnie and Fred.
There is a Fred buried next to his parents, but its just the name, no inscription or dates given. I found an article that he was a double amputee in 1900. But i found no birth info or death info. in his sister, Mary's obituary, she stated that her brother died in 1917. But i can't find any proof. If he was a double amputee, i'm assuming as his parents died before him, was he sent to a home to be taken care of?
Minnie Nagle (my direct relative) was born 4/14/1864 and died 3/17/1937. She married Frank Sealey Merchant.
I couldn't find any obituaries on George or Catherine. I don't know if they came over with other relatives? Also did they also have a John and Teressa Nagle? Why weren't they listed in Minnie and Mary's obituary? Any insight would be appreciated!
