You probably have this info already but have you sent for a copy of the marriage of Charles Jesse to Charlotte M Brewer in Stark county Ill feb 26th of 1867 it is in volume 2 page 7.
Have you considered Charles and Caroline Jesse in Honey Creek Wisco in the 1860 census. They have a son listed Charles who would be only one year off in age and if the census was off just the right month it could be him.
Charles and Caroline and family are listed born in Prussia.
regards,

Hi,
Yes, I did get the marriage license but there was no info about Charles Jesse's parents. I think the Charles and Caroline Jesse in Honey Creek in the 1860 census could very well be the parents of Charles Jesse b. 1838, but I can't prove it. They totally disappear after that census. I can't find a probate because I don't know where they died. They could have died without a probate. Another problem is that Charles Jesse b. 1838 is in the 1860 Essex Township, Stark County, Il. census as Jesson, a laborer for Calvin White, the grandfather of Charlotte Brewer, his future bride. I have been told that it was not unusual back then to be in two census. Charles parents could have had him included even though he wasn't there. I don't know where else to look for Charles Jesse, b. 1803.

Thank you very much for responding.
