I can't help with your problem; wish I could. But I have a related one you might help me with!
I have several ancestors I need to find naturalization papers for and don't know where to start. You're implying there are "intent papers" and "final naturalization papers." Did the laws change over time? It appears your Anton was a minor when naturalized. My grandfather, Henry O. Harrison, was naturalized, according to my mother, when his parents, Hans H. Harrison and Otilie or Othelia Regina, were naturalized and he was still a minor. In other words, he was not naturalized on his own. He was born in 1878, came to the US in 1891, turned 21 4 Jan 1899. Therefore his parents had to have been naturalized prior to that date. And did the state matter? I'm not sure where they were on his 21s birthday, but on the 1900 census the family was in Riverside, Wilkin Co., MN. I suspect but don't know for sure that they were naturalized there, or perhaps in adjacent Richland Co. ND, where they first lived on coming to the US.
Where do I look for information? Thanks for any help you or anyone else can provide.
