H. Lester ''Doc'' Frieden
ELIZA, Ill. - H. Lester ''Doc'' Frieden, 90 , of Eliza, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at his home.

Services will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. William Mosier of Riverbend Assembly Church will officiate. Betty Lincoln will be organist and Carleen Sell will be the vocalist. Pallbearers will be Dave Holmes, Matt Abraham, John Boyles, Dave Frieden, Bill Frieden and Don Frieden. Burial will be at Drury Reynolds Cemetery. A luncheon will follow services in the Community Room at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established for the Riverbend Assembly and the Hope Chapel.

Mr. Frieden was born March 8, 1910, in Mercer County, Ill., the son of John and Mary Boden Frieden. He married Lena Blanche Terrill on Nov. 28, 1931, in Rock Island, Ill.

He was a grain and livestock farmer all of his life, having helped, even this fall, to haul in grain. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was a past school board member for several years. He attended Riverbend Assembly Church and was a very devoted family man.

Survivors include two sons, Wilbur L. Frieden and his wife, Beverly, of New Boston, Ill. and Randy L. Frieden and his wife, Brenda, of Aledo, Ill., two daughters, Florence M. Sell and her husband, Richard, of Eliza, Ill., and Alta I. Turner and her husband, Robert, of Eliza, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister Lorena Moyers of Mediapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993; his parents; two sons, Keith Frieden; and infant son, Robert Frieden; a daughter, Lois; five brothers, Ed, Floyd, Harry, Albert ''Andy'', and William ''Buzz''; and two sisters, Phoebe ''Sis'' and Minnie.
