I am puzzled. We presumed our Mary Ann Soper Forsee had died before the 1850 Randolph Co. IL Census; Her husband is listed with his mother, siblings & his children. However, I find a marriage between Mrs. Mary Ann Forsee and W. J. Walsh on Jan. 8, 1867 (Randolph Co. Book B; #361). Then in the 1880 Census, Baldwin Precinct, Randolph Co. IL is W. & Mary Ann Welsh. (Ancestry Image #34; Household #259; Family #295) Listed with them is Ada Forsee, age 17. She is listed as a step-daughter. Now, here is where it gets tricky. Mary Ann Soper's husband, Napoleon, has a daughter by his second wife, Mahala Robinson, whose name is Ida Forsee. I'm wondering if this Ida and Ada could be the same person. Also that Mary Ann Soper Forsee did not die before the 1850 Census, but was divorced. It would seem there would be a death record or cemetery record in Randolph Co.
Any help in unraveling this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
