Looking for death date and burial place of R.H. Stephenson. He is in Granville, Putnam county, in 1865 Illinois State Census. Wife and children are in McLean county, Illinois in 1870 Federal census. He is not in McLean county burial records. So, between 1865 and 1870 he probably died in Granville.
Name sometimes spelled Stevenson

I have been gathering info on him for several years and just discovered the IL census data. I am descendent and am looking for his ancestors and anything else I can find about him. Where did the Hervey come from? All I've been able to find is R.H. and Robertus from the census info. I have info on his wife Nancy and family. He is by family legend connected to the Adlai Stevensons, but I've not been able to confirm that.

Robertus Hervey Stephenson is buried in the Union Grove Cemetery in Putnam County, Illinois. His first wife is buried there as well as the first husband of Nancy Parr, William Storer.

Robertus was active in the anti-slavery movement and had run for political office.
