There were some Harpers in Pope County at one time. Frances Harper born about 1849 married a Robert Dewessee in 1878. Their daughter Leona Pearl was born in Pope County in 1887, and in 1900 the are listed as being in Hardin County. Leona was my grandmother, but she died many years before I was born.
