HELP!!! Trying to find out the connection of the McCallisters in Pike County to the McCallisters in JoDavies County, IL and Pike County, MO. I have the tree traced back as far as Benjamin N. McCallister who married Alvira Tedrow. He was born abt. 1839 and has children - Roda, Anna, Henry, Olin, Fredrick, Elmer, William and Addie as of the 1880 Atlas Township Record. Does anyone out there know his parents??? Help would be much appreciated. Thanks - Dana

We have done extensive research on the McCallister family of Jo Daviess County, IL and McCallister/McCollister families of Salem County, NJ. We have not yet been able to link the Jo Daviess and Pike County, IL McCallister families.

I am looking for any info on a Susanna McCallister. She was married to Richard A Myers 12/18/1863 they had at least one son Samuel Jacob Myers born 6/17/1868. Richard died in 1881 and she remarried, she died in 1906. That is all I have on her. I was wondering if you have come across her n your seach.

Susanna A McCallister was born about 1841 in Pike Co, IL daughter of James McCallister and his wife Paulina Goldman, dau of Abraham Goldman and his wife Susannah Philbert.

Susanna McCallister was likely named for her grandmother Susannah Goldman. She was usually called Susan.

Susan McCallister married with Richard A Myers 18 Dec 1863 in Pike Co, IL; married by D R Rogers, JP, lic #460 (1863). Richard was son of Jacob Myers and Hannah A Williams, and he was born about 1838.

They had several children:

Samuel Jacob Myers b 16 Jun 1868 in Atlas twp, Pike Co, IL; he died 30 Oct 1929.

James Myers b Dec 1869 in Atlas twp, Pike Co, IL

Olive (Ollie) Myers b Aug 1871 in Atlas twp, Pike Co, IL

Laura Myers b about 1873

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Myers b Sep 1879 in Atlas twp, Pike Co, IL


Richard A Myers died before 1891.

Susan married a second time with Peter T Dickinson on 12 Jun 1892 in Atlas twp, Pike Co, IL; married by JA Brawley, JP, Marriage Record 3, p 241, no 1624. [Peter T Dickinson had been married with Susanna's sister Rebecca McCallister who died before 1891, they had had three children.]

Peter was in the Civil War. He died 09 Sep 1893 at El Dara, Pike Co, IL. Susan received a Federal Pension based on Peter's service in the Army.

Susan died of Heart Failure on 21 Jun 1906 at El Dara, Pike Co, IL; she was buried at Taylor-Martin Cemetery, Derry twp, Pike Co, IL; Death Record No 2, p 192, #576.
